Your Sedation Options

Whether you need mild relaxation or full sedation, we provide Nitrous Oxide, Oral Sedative, Conscious IV Sedation, and Deep Sedation (IV) to ensure your comfort.

Image

Mild: Nitrous Oxide

It’s informally called “laughing gas” because it has a euphoric effect (making some people get the giggles). Ideal for mild anxiety.

Image

Moderate: Oral Sedative

A simple pill can help you feel deeply relaxed while remaining awake but drowsy. Ideal for mild to moderate dental anxiety.

Image

Moderate: Conscious IV

Administered through a vein for a deeper level of relaxation. You’ll stay conscious but may not remember the procedure.

Deep Sedation (IV)*

For patients who prefer to be completely asleep, deep sedation is the best option. Recommended for complex procedures or severe anxiety.

*Note: Deep Sedation (IV) is administered by a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).

FAQs About Sedation Dentistry

Frequently Asked Questions

Is sedation dentistry safe?

Yes! Our sedation options are carefully administered by trained professionals, ensuring your safety and comfort.

How much does sedation cost?

The cost of sedation varies based on the type used and the complexity of your procedure.

On average:

Oral Sedation: $150 - $500 per session

Conscious IV Sedation: $500 - $1,500 per session

Deep Sedation (IV): $1,000 - $3,500 per session

Insurance coverage may vary, so we recommend checking with your provider.

Will I be asleep during the procedure?

It depends on the sedation method. Oral and Conscious IV sedation keep you conscious but relaxed, while Deep IV Sedation puts you completely to sleep.

How long does sedation last?

The effects depend on the type of sedation. Oral sedation lasts several hours, IV sedation wears off gradually, and general anesthesia requires recovery time.

Can I drive myself home after?

For oral and IV sedation, you’ll need someone to drive you home. With general anesthesia, we recommend having someone stay with you for a few hours post-procedure.
